What Is More Convenient To Buy: A Condo Or A House?

Congratulations on being ready to invest in real estate. Before buying a house, you must be debt-free and have an emergency fund for 3 to 6 months of your monthly expenses. What’s more, having no savings is a reason to deny yourself the loan.

When we buy a house, we must think like investors. That means that we must believe that the house will make us money and, ideally, it should be so from the moment we buy it. In other words, we must buy it at such a price that if we had to sell it soon, we would make a profit. With that in mind, what makes a property go up in price is that it is desirable to many.

Since most of the people who buy a house are families with children, a house tends to have more added value than a condominium. When it comes to selling, your probability is higher because your home is useful for a more significant number of buyers. There are expensive condos because of their location. If someone wants to live in the city center and walk to work, they will hardly be able to find houses in that sector. The condo has the advantage that you do not have to worry about exterior maintenance such as gardening, painting, roofing, etc.

However, a crucial advice is to choose according to U Condo kasetnawamin (u condo เกษตร, which is the term in Thai). Look for a reasonably discounted house and buy it even if it is in poor condition, (check that the structure and everything else is fine). Fix it little by little, in a few years, you can sell it and use that profit to give a more substantial down payment, and then do it one more time until you finish with your house paid.
